CDB Athletes Shine at The Indian Masters Athletic Meet

In an extraordinary feat, two members of the CDB Team, Dananja Krishantha Liyanage and Nadeeka Perera, members of the Sri Lanka Masters Team won multiple medals in the 38th Masters Athletic Championship 2018 – India held at the Mangala Stadium in Urva Mangalore. Dananja was a member of the winning 4×100m men’s relay, while Nadeeka in the champion 4×400m women’s relay team, giving them both golds. Dananja also notched a silver in the men’s Long Jump event, while Nadeeka gained silvers in the 100m women’s hurdles and triple jump events. Nadeeka added another bronze to her stack of wins with a bronze in the 100m women’s event. The events were conducted on a synthetic track.

At CDB, Dananja is Senior Executive – Credit Operations, while Nadeeka is Senior Executive – Customer Relations. In representing Sri Lanka, they have placed the country on the highly competitive track and field map of India, flying not only the Sri Lankan flag high but also that of CDB. They are both highly committed to their extracurricular sports training and have brought the positive fundamentals of team building and team spirit prevalent in sport into the CDB working environment.
